Tack Shop: Sidepulls & Reins

Why use a sidepull?

There are a few reasons that we recommend the sidepull. First of all, the sidepull gives both the horse and rider more room for error. Some horses have a lot of problems with the bit and getting out of their mouth can be very helpful. We also use a sidepull to start our colts as it allows them the opportunity to understand the definition of the rein before they have to deal with the bit in their mouth. In its proper time the bit is very effective in the training of a bridle horse, but everything in it place. sidepulls

How To Fit Your Sidepull

  1. Noseband: Two fingers from cheek bone.
  2. Rings on Crown Strap: Below bone line.
  3. Chin Strap: Just tight enough so the nose band will not slip when used.
  4. Rings should be close to where the bit would hang.
  5. Enjoy!
